It's 7 o'clock on a Wednesday morning and the sound of the cannon is ear piercing as 2 shot are fired. The sound of The Last Post sends a shiver down everyones spine. Just to listen to it makes you feel cold inside; it's sad thinking about all those men dying just because one mistake was made , just round the corner and lots more men would have died in peace. The firing party shoots four shots into the sky from the old rifles, reloads and fires four more, then they stand to attention.
Everyone is greeted and then we pray. Its heads down and the whole place goes quiet looking round and seeing tears in people's eyes is heart breaking. Its heads up and a man does the poem 'In Flanders Field' again tears fill the eyes of most. The Central Southland College head boy and girl say something each about are great ANZACS. We now sing Amazing Grace. Now the wreaths were laid to remember them: each one filled with poppies they all looked great, after everyone left still remembering the great ANZACS.
